"A couple of days earlier, I had been invited to dinner to taste the soup of a manta ray tail.
The local fishermen had caught a Manta Ray and given my host the tail bone to make soup with.
I don’t intend to ever eat another part of one as I think they are such majestic creatures,
especially when they are flying above the waves.
When I stood back from the painting, I realized that the Manta Ray had decided to grace my painting.
What an honor."
